From the Land of Valor and Roses
House of Haldighati is born from one of India's most historic and fragrant landscapes — where the legacy of Maharana Pratap meets the rare fragrance of the Chaitri Rose.

Where history and fragrance meet
Situated amidst the Aravalli hills near Udaipur, Haldighati is celebrated worldwide as the battlefield where Maharana Pratap displayed unmatched courage and resilience during the Battle of Haldighati in 1576. The region derives its name from its distinctive yellow, turmeric-coloured soil — Haldi meaning turmeric, Ghati meaning valley.
For centuries, Haldighati has symbolised bravery, pride, and the rich heritage of Mewar. Beyond its glorious history, this valley is also home to one of Rajasthan's most treasured natural gifts — the rare and fragrant Chaitri Rose.
Rajasthan's Fragrant Heritage
Haldighati is renowned for cultivating the rare Chaitri Rose, a unique variety that blooms only during the Hindu month of Chaitra (March–April). Nurtured by the region's distinctive climate, mineral-rich soil, and traditional farming practices, these roses possess an extraordinary fragrance and exceptional quality.
For generations, local farmers and artisans have cultivated these roses with immense care. The blooms are harvested during their peak season and transformed into products that have become synonymous with the identity of Haldighati.
“The fragrance of the Chaitri Rose is not merely an aroma — it is a living heritage that carries the essence of Mewar's culture, traditions, and craftsmanship.”

How Gulkand became Haldighati's Identity
The tradition of crafting rose-based products in Haldighati dates back several centuries. What began as a local practice gradually evolved into one of Rajasthan's most recognised artisanal industries. Families in the region have passed down recipes and techniques through generations to create authentic rose products such as:
Traditional Gulkand
Rose Sharbat
Rose Water
Natural Rose Preserves
Rose Wellness Products
Gulkand & Ayurveda
Among these, Gulkand holds a special place. Prepared by slowly preserving fresh rose petals with natural sweeteners, Gulkand has long been valued in Ayurveda for its cooling and rejuvenating properties. The process requires patience, craftsmanship, and carefully selected rose petals to preserve their natural aroma and benefits.
Today, Haldighati is widely recognised across India for its authentic rose products, and the region's rose heritage continues to support local farmers, artisans, and traditional methods of production.
Preserving the Legacy of Mewar's Roses
House of Haldighati was established with a simple yet meaningful vision — to preserve the heritage of Haldighati's roses and present them to the modern world in their purest and most premium form.
We work closely with local farmers and artisans, honouring traditional recipes and age-old techniques while maintaining the highest standards of quality and authenticity. Every jar and every bottle carries a story — of fertile valleys, blooming roses, dedicated craftsmanship, and the enduring spirit of Mewar.
